12. People¶
Module
Part of Payroll & HR. If your plan does not include it, these screens are not in your menus.
Employees. Basic staff records. Payroll itself is in WhyzeHR — see chapter 11.
The directory¶
Employees → Directory. Everybody, with their position, department, hire date and status. Click a row to open it.
The one thing you can change here is Employment status — Active, On Leave or Terminated. Their leave balances for the year are shown underneath.
Watch out
Changing somebody to Terminated here does not stop them signing in. Switching off their access is a separate action in Setup → Users, and it must be done deliberately.
Positions and the org chart¶
Employees → Positions lists the job titles and who each reports to, and lets you create a new one. A position can exist before anybody is hired into it.
Employees → Org Chart draws the reporting lines from the positions, with a headcount badge on each and the word "vacant" where nobody holds it. It is built from positions rather than people, so a vacancy is visible rather than invisible.
Watch out
The Positions screen shows a "Reports to" column but has no box for setting it. Every position created here starts at the top of the chart until that is fixed.
Time off¶
Employees → Time Off. Two panels side by side.
Requesting leave¶
- Search for the employee by name or number.
- Choose the Leave type.
- Set From and To.
- Type the number of Days, in half-day steps.
- Add a Reason if you want one.
- Click Submit request.
Watch out
Days is typed, not worked out from the dates. A Monday-to-Friday request will not fill in 5 by itself — check it.
Approving leave¶
The right-hand panel lists every pending request across all staff, with Approve and Reject on each.
Monthly accrual¶
Leave entitlement is not accrued automatically — nothing runs in the background. Once a month, choose the Period and click Run accrual. It is safe to run twice: anybody already accrued for that month is skipped.
