Getting started

This page is for the person who set up the company's account: usually the owner or the finance lead. Everybody else can start at chapter 1 of the user guide.

1. Sign in

Your company's address is https://<your-company>.consoletium.com, the name you chose when you signed up. The welcome email gives you the address, your sign-in email and a temporary password.

The first time you sign in you are asked to choose your own password before anything else. The rule is at least eight characters; a sentence you will remember is better than a short word with symbols. See signing in.

2. Check what is on your plan

Setup › Plan & Licence shows the modules your company has, the user seats in use and, if you have the AI module, this month's AI spend. Menus for modules you have not bought do not appear; add them from your account at app.consoletium.com. See Plan & licence.

3. Your company and country

Your company was set up with the country pack you chose: Singapore (SGD, GST and the F5 return) or Malaysia (MYR, SST and the MyInvois tax types). That fixed the base currency, the tax codes with their rate history and a standard chart of accounts. Check them under Setup › Tax Codes & Rates and Lists › Chart of Accounts, then add your own accounts beside the standard ones. See Country packs.

Watch out

The base currency cannot be changed once documents exist. If the company was set up in the wrong country, tell support before entering anything.

4. Add your people

Setup › Users creates a sign-in for each member of staff. Each user has a role, and the role decides which menus they see and what they can change. You choose a starting password and tell them; they must replace it the first time they sign in. Each active staff user takes one seat on your plan; customer-portal users do not. See setting up and looking after the system.

5. Your lists

Before the first order you need the things orders refer to: customers, vendors (suppliers), items and prices. They are under Lists (Customers, Vendors, Items, Chart of Accounts, Price Rules). If you have them in another system, ask us about loading them for you. See moving to Consoletium.

6. Opening balances

Bring across what each account held on the day you start: bank balances, what customers owe you, what you owe suppliers, and stock on hand by item, lot and location. Open invoices and bills are best entered as documents, so they can be paid and aged in the usual way. If you are moving from NetSuite, the Migration Kit does this and reconciles it to the cent.

7. Start working

Raise a test sales order and follow it through: approve, fulfil, invoice, receive payment. Chapter 2 explains how a document moves through the system and why the screens are shaped the way they are.
