How to operate Consoletium: what to click, in what order, and what the system does about it. It assumes no knowledge of how any of it is built.

It is arranged the way the work is arranged, not the way the menus are:

  • Chapters 1 and 2 are for everybody. Read them once. Chapter 2 explains why the system is shaped the way it is, and answers most "where is the button for…" questions before they come up.
  • Chapters 3 to 5 are selling, buying and approving: the daily work of the office.
  • Chapters 6 to 9 are the warehouse, stock, transfers and buying decisions.
  • Chapters 10 to 13 are money, payroll, people and fixed assets.
  • Chapters 14 to 16 are reports, the month-end routine and looking after the system.
  • Chapter 17 is field sales and the customer portal.
  • Chapters 18 and 19 say what the system deliberately does not do, and what to do when something looks wrong.

Chapters that belong to one module say so at the top. If your company's plan does not include that module, its screens are not in your menus; see Modules.

For a single screen described field by field and button by button, use the screen reference. Where every screen lives lists every menu and what is under it, and the glossary defines the words used on screen.

Words in bold are exactly what appears on screen: a menu, a button, a column heading.
